Wallis Estate

Wallis Family Estate 2013 SERAPHIM Cabernet Sauvignon

Winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown

Diamond Mountain District, Napa Valley

100% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14.7% Alcohol, 230 Cases Produced

“The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Seraphim is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from Diamond Mountain. This is a beauty--deep, rich black/purple in color, with loads of cassis fruit. Few secondary nuances except for graphite and vanillin are present. The wine is full-bodied, powerful and rich. This tips the scales at 14.7% natural alcohol, and seems to have a good 30 years of upside potential. The winemaker is none other than Thomas Rivers Brown, which no doubt helps explain the super high-quality of this wine. Give it 5-6 years of cellaring and drink it over the following 25 years.” 94+ Points Awarded by Robert Parker, December 2015

“The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Seraphim has come together nicely. A host of graphite, crushed rocks, mint and slate back up a core of dark fruit. This is an especially inky, fruit-driven Diamond Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon.” 93 Points Awarded by Antonio Galloni, October 2015

"A massive Cabernet that shows finesse, this is a powerful, barefisted effort, with extracted currant, blackberry, licorice, dusty, cedary oak and black licorice flavors. Drink now throught 2030."-JL 93 Points Awarded, August 2016. Link to WS Insider Issue

Wallis Family Estate 2013 Cabernet Franc

Winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown

Diamond Mountain District, Napa Valley

100% Cabernet Franc, 14.7% Alcohol, 50 Cases Produced

“An excellent 2013 Cabernet Franc shows wonderful sweet, rich blueberry and black raspberry fruit, a nice judicious touch of oak, low acidity and lush forest floor notes. This is medium to full-bodied, 100% Cabernet Franc aged 20 months in French oak. It's showing beautifully already, and there's no reason to defer gratification. The color is a dense ruby/purple. Drink it over the next decade.” 90 Points Awarded by Robert Parker, December 2015

A 100% varietal wine that opens invitingly in wafts of baked bread and follows on the palate with juicy black currant and dried herb, this shows complexity and elegance in equal measure. Firm tannin girds substantial characteristics of black licorice and tobacco, with a succulent finish. Drink now through 2023.

Wallis Family Estate 2013 Little Sister Proprietary Red Wine

Winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown

Diamond Mountain District, Napa Valley

57% Petit Verdot, 29 % Cab Franc, 14% Cabernet Sauvignon, 160 Cases Produced

“The 2013 Proprietary Red Little Sister is a blend of 57% Petit Verdot, 29% Cabernet Franc and 14% Cabernet Sauvignon. As one might expect with this much Petit Verdot, there is substantial tannin, structure and earth. It's deep ruby purple, shows better balance and more charm than I would have thought. It is medium to full-bodied, and has the potential to evolve into something civilized and well-balanced. Time will tell, however. This is a big, back strapping, rather masculine style. Give it another 3-4 years and drink it over the following 20.” 89 Points Awarded by Robert Parker, December 2015

92 Points Awarded, Cellar Selection

"This wine is made from 57% Petit Verdot (a variety of increasing interest, it seems) from mountain sites. An additional 29% Cabernet Franc and 14% Cabernet Sauvignon help soften its tastes of black licorice, leather and black currant, dotted by a dash of black olive. Opaque in color, it's savory and sizable in body without becoming overly concentrated. Drink now through 2021." -V.B.
